Paintings for people who refuse to shrink.

the condon standard
"Karen Turner's work is a celebration of the female body, reminiscent of Jenny Saville though with an empowering swagger all of her own."

Karen Turner
is a multi-award-winning artist whose oil paintings are about – and for – people tired of shrinking themselves to fit. They're celebrations of what it feels like to stick two fingers up at a world that tells you you're taking up too much space, and bold statements for anyone who's spent too many years being judged, corrected, or told they're too much.
Born in London in 1978, Karen's art career began in her mid-40s after 25 years of conforming in a corporate world. Since becoming a professional artist she's received multiple awards, exhibited across the UK, featured in national and international publications, and judged regional and national art prizes. She's now based in Suffolk and is part of the family of artists on BBC One's Extraordinary Portraits with Bill Bailey.
